Everyone is most welcome to join us for any of our services but you may want to know what to expect before you visit on a Sunday. Sroll down to discover more about our normal services.
The morning service is our main weekly gathering when the majority of people who attend St James' will meet. There is a full youth and children's programme laid on each week, ranging from a crèche through to teens.
We sing a blend of contemporary and traditional hymns and songs and prayers are said. At the heart of the service is time to read from God's word, the Bible, and listen to a sermon. On the first Sunday of the month we also share the Lord's Supper. There is always an opportunity to stay behind afterwards to chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
The evening meeting is typically a smaller gathering than in the morning but the focus is just the same. It is the end of the Lord's Day and many wish to meet again to worship together. There is a focus on hearing from God in his word, usually in the form of a sermon or an explanation of a key doctrine. Along with singing hymns and songs, we pray together. On occasion, we also share the Lord's Supper. While there is no dedicated youth and children's programme, everyone is very welcome.
